As part of a standing arrangement with Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC), SHM Canada provides construction inspection services for a range of projects at Small Craft Harbours in Nova Scotia. In order to meet the increasing demands of these projects, we have recently added a number of new inspectors to our roster.

This expansion of our roster presented an excellent opportunity for SHM Canada to offer additional health and safety training for team. On Saturday, February 2nd, Stewart Sampson of Safety Services NS offered an excellent day-long session on Wharf Safety for a number of inspectors on our roster. SHM Canada is committed to ensuring that all of our employees have the training and equipment they need to stay safe on the job,

Health and safety are top priorities on any construction site. Construction inspectors, who act as the on-site eyes and ears of our clients, need to be especially alert to potential risks. We’re confident that this training will ensure that our inspectors stay safe on site—and that they’re now even better prepared to help keep other workers and members of the public safe as well.

We are still accepting applications for inspectors who are interested in joining our roster, and we’ll offer additional training to new and continuing team members in the future.
